Verify Your Insurance for Mental Health Treatment
Send your plan details and admissions checks your mental health benefits for you, then calls you back with a plain answer before anyone commits.
Three steps to verify your insurance
You do not have to call your insurance company or work out the terms yourself. Admissions does that part.
Admissions does the checking- 1
Send the form
Your name, phone, plan and member ID. It takes about a minute.
- 2
Admissions checks your benefits
They contact your plan about mental health coverage for residential, PHP and IOP.
- 3
You get a call back
Admissions explains what your plan covers and what you may owe, before anyone commits.
Keep the insurance card close
The form asks for a few details. Admissions asks for the rest on the call.
Your insurance card
The member ID and group number, front and back.
The policyholder
Their name and date of birth, if the plan is in a parent’s or spouse’s name.
The patient’s date of birth
Admissions asks for it on the call, not on the form.
Your plan type, if you know it
PPO, HMO or EPO. It is on the card or in your plan documents.
Many PPO plans, checked one by one
Seeing your plan here does not guarantee coverage, and not seeing it does not rule it out. Admissions checks your exact plan.
PPO
Most PPO plans include out-of-network benefits for mental health. This is where Wings most often works.
HMO and EPO
These usually cover in-network care only. Admissions checks whether your plan has any option for Wings.
Out-of-network
Coverage depends on your deductible and out-of-network benefits. Admissions explains what that means for you.
Have Medi-Cal or Medicare? Admissions can still help
Wings works with private PPO plans, so we say this up front to save you time. If Medi-Cal or Medicare is your only coverage, admissions can explain private pay or point you to programs that accept your plan. If you also have a private plan, admissions can check it.
Questions about insurance verification
What you need, verifying for someone else, coverage, HMO plans, Medi-Cal and Medicare.
Don't see your question?
Admissions answers calls 9 a.m.–5 p.m., seven days a week. Calls are confidential.
Call(760) 388-6369Visits, phones, what to bring and more in the admissions FAQ →All the ways to reach Wings →Does verifying my insurance commit me to anything?
Verification is free and confidential, and it does not commit you to treatment. It tells you what your plan covers so you can decide.
What information do I need?
Your insurance card with the member ID, and the name and date of birth of the policyholder and the patient. Admissions asks for the dates of birth on the call.
Can I verify insurance for someone else?
Yes. Parents, partners and family members often call. Have the insurance card and the patient’s details ready. The patient will need to agree to treatment themselves.
Does verification guarantee coverage?
It tells you what your plan says about mental health benefits. Final coverage depends on your plan, medical necessity and any authorization your plan requires.
Does Wings accept Medi-Cal or Medicare?
Wings works with many private PPO plans. If you have Medi-Cal or Medicare, admissions can explain private pay or point you to programs that accept your plan.
I have an HMO plan. Can I still come to Wings?
HMO plans usually cover in-network care only. Admissions checks your specific plan and tells you plainly what is possible.
Which insurance plans does Wings work with?
Wings works with many PPO plans, including Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Cigna, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, UMR and others. Admissions verifies your benefits before admission at no cost.
