Our story

Built by clinicians, for the people other programs struggle to help

Wings was founded by a psychologist and a marriage and family therapist who had seen, in years of practice, how trauma and mental illness affect people and the families who love them. They built a program where trauma is treated directly, men and women are treated apart, and every client gets real time with their therapist.

Our mission

A safe, supportive place for complete healing, where every person can rewrite their story.

Structured, compassionate, client-centered care, with hope held for everyone who walks through the door.

What makes Wings different

Six things that shape mental health care at Wings

  1. 1

    Mental health first

A primary mental health program, not an addiction program. Drinking or drug use is treated alongside.

  2. 2

    Trauma-focused

A trauma therapist on every team, and therapists trained in EMDR, IFS and Brainspotting.

  3. 3

    Men and women apart

Separate programs, offices and groups, so people can talk about what matters.

  4. 4

    Individual attention

Four individual sessions a week in residential, with a team that knows you.

  5. 5

    Four sessions a week

Four individual therapy sessions a week in residential, with the same therapist as you step down.

  6. 6

    Whole-person care

Psychiatry, fitness, nutrition, art, acupuncture and Rock to Recovery music.

Treatment outcomes

Measuring whether mental health treatment works

Wings works with Vista Research Group, an independent firm, to ask clients how they are doing at intake and after discharge. The results guide how the program improves.

  1. Step 1

    At intake

Clients report how they are doing when treatment starts.

  2. Step 2

    At discharge

The same questions when they finish treatment.

  3. Step 3

    After discharge

Follow-up surveys show whether the gains last.
